BSc Biomedical Science
Course overview
This three-year undergraduate programme is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and built with major input from NHS professionals. It gives students a deep understanding of human function and physiological processes in health and disease. This course prepares students for life-saving work and is the first step towards becoming registered biomedical scientists.
Students will explore the underlying causes of diseases, learning how they are used for diagnosis and treatment. It involves extensive lab-based learning to master necessary techniques in areas such as cellular, molecular, and microbiological science. In the final year, they will complete their personal independent research projects.

Applicants are expected to submit a personal statement in which they outline their reasons for applying for the course and other information regarding their studies. A relevant reference must also be submitted. Students have the choice to upload their CVs alongside their applications to demonstrate their work experience.
