LLM General
Course overview
The LLM General is a Master's degree in Law that is very flexible. It lets students study the law topics that they find most interesting. It is a good choice for people who have a first degree in law and want to specialise, as well as for people who are not lawyers but need to understand more about the law for their jobs. Students will take four taught classes and complete either a long written paper (dissertation) of 15,000 words or a legal project based on work experience.
Teaching includes lectures, seminars, and practical workshops, with classes usually held on weekday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, totalling six contact hours per week. This timetable offers excellent flexibility to fit around existing work or life commitments. Assessment is mainly research-based and includes essays, case studies, written legal advice (opinions), and oral presentations.
