BA Criminology and Law

University of East London

Course overview

The BA (Hons) Criminology and Law degree combines the study of crime (criminology) with a high understanding of legal systems. Students will look at what causes crime, what happens after it, and how the law works in society. During the first two years, they build a strong base by studying key areas such as the criminal justice process, legal skills, criminal law, and theories about crime.

Students will learn through attending lectures and participating in small group discussions (seminars) and practical workshops. Their works are graded throughout the year to keep their study load even. They will be assessed using exams, essays, presentations, and real-world case studies. The course also focuses on building the professional skills students require to get rewarding jobs.
