BSc Computing Science
Course overview
The University of East Anglia BSc Computing Science course gives students a foundation in several computing fields, preparing them to build a better future with technology. The curriculum covers major areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), neural networks, data management, designing engaging video games, and improving web experiences. Students will gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience in software engineering, problem-solving, and professional programming languages like Java, Python, and C++.
The learning approach combines formal lectures and seminars with practical laboratory sessions that reinforce and expand on the course material. Assessment methods are a mixture of individual and group assignments, including written work, presentations, in-class tests, and a synoptic project that tests both theoretical knowledge and practical application skills. The course is accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS), which partially fulfils the academic requirement for becoming a Chartered IT Professional (CITP).
