BSc Computer Science
Course overview
The three-year BSc Computer Science at the University of Lancashire gets students ready for the many jobs in computing today because of the rapid digital changes. The course teaches the main ideas behind computer science, like computational thinking, and practical skills such as software development, databases, and how people use computers (user interface design). Students can also choose optional classes to study new topics like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Learning focuses on practical skills, so students can use their computing knowledge to fix real-world issues. You will use industry-level software in special labs for tasks such as checking computer security and setting up networks. Your marks will come from a mixture of homework, group projects, presentations, and exams. The whole degree is designed with courses that lead up to a large Honours Degree Project in your final year.
