BSc Building Surveying with Foundation Year

University of Lancashire

Course overview

The 4-year BSc (Hons) Building Surveying with a Foundation Year at the University of Central Lancashire is a degree for students who want to work in construction, looking after and inspecting buildings. The Foundation Year helps students who don’t yet meet the entry requirements to get ready by learning the basic skills they need for the course.

Teaching emphasises practical, real-world experience, involving time spent on construction sites and in local environments. Students are assessed through reports, projects, CAD tasks, case studies, and a final dissertation. These help them use their technical knowledge and improve communication skills.

After graduating, students will know how building surveying works and can work in surveying, construction consulting, or continue with professional training.
