Overview
This innovative programme is designed for individuals who want to help athletes improve their physical abilities and performance. It covers various sports science topics like anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, sports psychology, and nutrition. The course is approved by CIMSPA, which can help students get extra professional qualifications.
Students' skills will be tested in various ways that become increasingly challenging as they progress. This includes exams, lab reports, case studies, portfolios, and practical tests. The teaching and learning in the course are guided by the staff's research and accreditations, as many are accredited coaches and respected members of the Higher Education Academy.
Entry Requirements
Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying to the course and provide other relevant information about their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.
Grade Requirements:
- Applicants need 104 UCAS tariff points, which must include at least 80 points from three A-levels or an equivalent qualification.
English Proficiency:
- Overall IELTS score of 6.0, with no less than 5.5 in each section.
- Equivalent test scores such as TOEFL or PTE are also accepted.
Cost of Study
The full-time tuition fee for international students is £16,800.
Scholarships
The university provides a range of scholarships and bursaries. This includes the Excellence Scholarship (£2,500 per year) and the Achievement Scholarship (£500 per year) for UK students. For international students, there are several options, such as the International Undergraduate Merit Award (£1,000 tuition fee reduction per year) and subject-specific scholarships worth up to £6,000 per year for certain courses.
