Course overview
The University of Bedfordshire International Foundation Year (Business) programme is designed to improve students’ English proficiency and provide them with an in-depth understanding of the subject area. The 1-year programme combines English language development with academic and technological skills to help students progress to a full undergraduate degree.
Accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in the UK, the International Foundation Year programme aims to help students reach an IELTS score of over 6.0 or above, which is the minimum requirement for undergraduate courses at the University of Bedfordshire. Subject units in their second semester offer them a programme specific to their subject area, as well as meeting their linguistic needs. This will help them choose the most relevant degree as they start their undergraduate studies.
Entry requirements
Candidates are required to submit a personal statement explaining their reasons for applying for the course and provide other relevant information about their education. A reference from someone in academics or a past employer is also typically required. Students can include their CV with their application to show any work experience they have.
Grade Requirements:
- You need A-levels at grades CCC, a BTEC Extended Diploma at MMM, T Levels, or International Baccalaureate or equivalent qualifications.
- The university also considers other qualifications and relevant experience.
English Proficiency:
- International applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide proof of proficiency in English. This can be achieved with an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Other qualifications, such as PTE and TOEFL, are also accepted.
