The BSc Software Engineering with Foundation Year enables students to develop practical skills in creating software applications through a combination of lectures and hands-on tutorial sessions. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate on real-world projects and produce software prototypes inspired by industry.
The Foundation Year is suitable for students who do not meet the entry requirements for the BSc (Hons) Software Engineering course. They will share the first year with other computing foundation year students before progressing to the degree. During the first year of study, they will enhance their skills and prepare themselves for the main degree.
In their final year, Students will design and build their own software application, guided by a dedicated project supervisor. Learning takes place through lectures, hands-on lab sessions, tutorials, teamwork, and group-based self-study.
