Course overview
The BA Business Management Top-up at University College Birmingham is a one-year, full-time programme for those who have relevant knowledge or experience through a Higher National Diploma or a foundation degree. The programme is meant to develop skills and understanding of the business environment, it is also accredited by University College Birmingham and developed with professional bodies.
The core modules of the course include Change and Transformation Strategy, Measuring Success, and dedicated research projects. Students can choose two optional modules from topics in Financial Strategy, Freelancing, International Marketing, and Strategic Human Resources Management. Teaching is in large and small group sessions, tutorials, and workshops while assessments are coursework-based (88%) and practical-based (12%).
Entry requirements
Students need to submit a personal statement showing why they are applying for the course and other academic related information. An academic or employer reference is also required with the option to upload CVs along with their applications to show work experience.
Grade Requirements:
- Students need a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a foundation degree with 240 credits in Marketing, Business Management, or Finance.
- A Higher National Certificate (HNC) with 120 credits may also be considered.
English Proficiency:
- Students who don’t have English as their first language are required to demonstrate proficiency by achieving an IELTS overall academic score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
- Other tests like PTE are also accepted.
