LLB Business Law
Course overview
The three-year LLB Business Law is not a general law degree; it is a specialist undergraduate course suited for students looking to work in commercial or business law. It ensures they gain a strong foundation in all the core legal knowledge essential for becoming professionals. A key benefit is the opportunity to select specific modules covering areas of interest, such as trade law, competition law, and commercial sales.
Learning will be delivered through a blend of lectures, seminars, and workshops, and boosted by practical opportunities like the excellent Law Clinic, where students can practise advising real clients. Students will be assessed through a variety of methods, including written examinations, coursework, mock courtroom advocacy, and the preparation of legal reports. Students may also choose to spend a Year Abroad at a partner institution.
Entry requirements
Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their Curriculum Vitae (CV) along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.
Grade Requirements:
- The typical offer for this undergraduate degree is based on A-Level grades ranging from AAB to BBB, or an equivalent amount of UCAS Tariff points.
- The university is flexible in considering different qualifications, including the Welsh Baccalaureate and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (typically 32 points), and all applications are considered on an individual basis.
English Proficiency:
- Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to score a minimum overall 6.0 in the IELTS Academic test, with no individual component scoring less than 5.5.
- Students must submit equivalent scores from other approved English language tests, which must have been obtained within the acceptable validity period before the programme start date.
