BSc Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence
Course overview
Swansea University’s BSc in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence is an undergraduate degree that builds students’ foundation in computer science with specialised knowledge in artificial intelligence (AI). This course is for students who want to develop critical thinking, observation, and numerical skills to solve problems in society.
In this course, students learn how artificial intelligence aids machine learning, data science, and robotics. They will also practice foundational topics like programming, using Java, Python, and C++, as well as algorithms, web development, and prompt engineering. To help students gain a full understanding of the course content, students will work hands-on with AI to help them learn its functions, principles, and mathematical techniques.
Additionally, students study neural networks and decision trees, and how to model computers to learn from data. Some of the modules students learn from also include natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics. Learning in this course is through lectures, seminars, workshops, and practical sessions. Assessment methods include written reports, verbal presentations, tests, and examinations.
