BSc Computer Science

Swansea University

Course overview

Swansea University’s BSc Computer Science is a three-year undergraduate degree which teaches students about computers, what its system is made of, and how they operate. This is the main bachelor’s degree, offering standard entry for international students, rather than the alternative foundation year. In this programme, accredited by the British Computer Society, students learn about the computer system, including its hardware and software components. Additionally, students learn programming, using Java, C++, and Python to design apps or even websites.

They will gain experience with data analytics tools like Tableau software, compute data with Excel, prompt engineering, some high-level mathematics, and also major in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software engineering. Learning in this course is through lectures, seminars, workshops, and practical sessions. Assessment methods are written reports, presentations, tests, examinations, and a final-year project.
