BSc Honours Events Management with Foundation Year

Course Overview

The BSc (Honours) Events Management with Foundation Year at Sheffield Hallam University is a well-structured programme that can be completed in 4 to 5 years of full-time study. It begins with a foundation year that lays the groundwork for the more specialised studies to follow. During this year, students will not only cover business topics but also develop essential skills like academic writing, teamwork, and data analysis.

As they progress, students will explore various aspects of event management, including event design, effective business management, marketing, operational planning, and safety measures. They will also have the opportunity to work on different types of events such as weddings, festivals, fashion shows, and conferences.

The course allows students the option of participating in a year-long work placement to gain vital skills that enhance their employability upon graduation. The placement year also enables them to graduate with an Applied Professional Diploma, which is a valuable addition to their resumes, and gain two recognised qualifications—the BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders and the IOSH Managing Events Safely award—at no additional cost.
