MSc Public Health and Health Promotion

Robert Gordon University

Course overview

This master's degree in Public Health and Health Promotion is designed for graduates who wish to become professionals in promoting individual health by following better plans and guidelines. The programme teaches them about the social factors that affect health. Students will learn how to address issues such as increasing health disparities between groups, the needs of an ageing population, and the rise in long-term illnesses. The course focuses on both stopping illness before it starts and encouraging good health, helping you to make a real difference to people's health and well-being.

The course asks students to be active learners; this means students are encouraged to take part and study on their own. This approach helps students become thoughtful and skilled public health professionals who can look at issues with a critical eye. To complete, they'll be marked on written work, spoken presentations, and a final research project (dissertation). The qualification is also recognised by the IUHPE as meeting important global standards.
