MSc Psychological Therapies and Interventions

The MSc in Psychological Therapies and Interventions equips students with the academic and practical skills necessary for a career in mental health. It includes a valuable work placement to help students apply what they have learned and build confidence. The course also has Postgraduate Diploma and PG Certificate options.

Learning is a combination of interactive lectures, workshops, and lab classes. Students will also spend a considerable amount of time on independent study. The course is assessed through case study reports, reflective diaries, essays, a work-based project report, and an applied research dissertation.

Middlesex University is a public research university in north London, England, with additional campuses in Dubai and Mauritius. Founded in 1878, it has a long-standing reputation for providing education that focuses on careers. Applicants are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. Grade Requirements:

• Applicants are required to have a minimum of a 2:1 honours degree in Psychology or a related subject.
• A successful Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check may also be required before students can attend their placement.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to have good English language skills.
• The university accepts various tests, including IELTS. If applicants do not meet the minimum English language requirements, the university provides an intensive pre-sessional English course.

For international students, the tuition fee for this course is £17,100.

While there are no scholarships made specifically for the MSc Psychological Therapies and Interventions course, international students can apply for general scholarships offered by Middlesex University. Students can only be awarded one scholarship, even if they are eligible for more than one. Some of the scholarships students may be eligible for include the Regional or International Merit Award, which offers up to £2,000 towards first-year tuition fees.

The Alumni Postgraduate Award gives a 20% fee reduction for all former Middlesex University students. The Chevening Scholarship, funded by the British Government, can cover postgraduate tuition fees. The Commonwealth Scholarship covers course fees, airfares, and a living allowance. Finally, the European Academic Awards are for students with strong academic results, offering an award of £1,000 to £7,000.
