Entry Requirements

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs along with their applications to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements: 

  • Applicants typically need an undergraduate honours degree with a grade of 2.2 or higher from a UK university, or an equivalent international qualification.
  • Applicants need evidence of a Level 6 qualification in Health and Safety, or a portfolio showing a good understanding of Risk Management with relevant experience. 
  • Candidates with a NEBOSH Diploma or similar relevant experience may also be considered.

English Proficiency: 

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds must show an overall IELTS Academic score of 6.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
  • Other equivalent tests, like TOEFL or PTE Academi,c may also be accepted
  •  If you do not have the above requirements, Middlesex University offers a Pre-sessional English course to help you reach the required level.

Cost of Study

For the 2025/26 academic year, the tuition fee for the MSc Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management programme is £17,100 for international full-time students.

Scholarships

Middlesex University offers scholarships for postgraduate students, including the Alumni Award. Undergraduate alumni of Middlesex who continue their postgraduate studies at the university are eligible for an alumni award worth 20% off their tuition fees.

The university also offers an Academic Achievement Award, this scholarship offers £2,000 for postgraduate students.

Regional Awards are also available; these scholarships can give up to £5,000 towards course fees for the first year of study for talented international students.
