BA Architecture with Foundation Year

Course Overview

This four-year programme includes a foundation year followed by a three-year degree, preparing students for careers in architecture and other creative fields. The course helps students understand how architecture connects with society and history, while also developing their design and technical skills through hands-on studio projects, lectures, and workshops. The foundation year is a hands-on introduction to design, covering areas like drawing, model making, and using digital software. Student progress is checked through coursework, essays, reports, and presentations.

The second part of the course focuses on design projects, including urban and sustainable design. Students gain the key skills they need to come up with new architectural ideas that are both useful and good for society. Most of the students’ grades will be based on their design portfolios, projects done in the studio, and written assignments. This all-around approach makes sure they get a complete education, combining basic knowledge with real-world architectural practice.
