About University

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a public university located in Liverpool, England. It started in 1823 as the Liverpool Mechanics’ School of Arts. In 1970, it became Liverpool Polytechnic, and in 1992, it became a university. It took its name from Sir John Moores, the founder of the Littlewoods retail group.

Today, LJMU has over 25,000 students from more than 100 countries. Entry Requirements

Equivalent previous work experience will be considered. 

Grade Requirements:

A minimum of 2:2 in a subject such as Law, Finance, Banking, or Accounting is required. An equivalent professional qualification is also accepted. 

English Proficiency:

International candidates are expected to show proof of English proficiency with an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each element.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee to study the LLM in International Business, Corporate and Finance Law at Liverpool John Moores University (2025/2026 academic year) is £17,750. This fee encompasses registration, tuition, supervision, assessment, examinations, library membership, and access to digital resources and campus Wi-Fi.

Scholarships

LJMU offers several scholarships and financial aid options to support international students with their school fees. For instance, the Rice-Jones Charitable Trust Scholarship is available to applicants who have accepted a place to study on a postgraduate law course. The amount offered and the purpose for which the Scholarship award is offered are at the absolute discretion of The Rice-Jones Charitable Trust and may vary per individual. A successful applicant may receive a grant of up to £20,000. All self-funded international students are also eligible for an automatic scholarship worth up to £4,000.
