BSc Product Design Engineering

The BSc Product Design Engineering involves creativity and engineering principles to teach the design and development of solutions for real-world problems. The programme will teach students to combine creativity and technical knowledge to build products that are usable and sustainable throughout their lifecycle. Students learn using sketching, model making, and the latest computer-aided design technology.

The course is taught in well-equipped laboratories and a design studio made for product design. Students are assessed in teams working on design and enterprise projects to build a design portfolio and are encouraged to take the optional placement year. Tutors will give regular and constructive feedback on every work to help students improve.

• Candidates need to have between 112 and 128 UCAS Tariff points, which is similar to an A-level grade of BBC - ABB, with at least one grade C from a relevant subject like Design and Technology, Maths, or Physics.
• A Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma with grades DMM - DDM is also accepted.
• A Grade C or Grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language and Mathematics is also accepted.

English Proficiency:

• Candidates should submit an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS test, with no score below 5.5.
• TOEFL is also an accepted test score.

For the academic year 2025/26, the tuition fee for the BSc Product Design Engineering programme at Liverpool John Moores University is £18,250.
