BEng Aerospace Engineering

Course Overview

The BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering at Heriot-Watt University is a four-year undergraduate programme taught in Edinburgh and commences each September. It combines fundamental mechanical engineering subjects with specific applications in aerospace, and it follows current industry trends.

In the first two years, students engage with courses from the well-established mechanical engineering curriculum, thereby building learning problem-solving, analysis, and design abilities. The third and fourth years involve Group Design Projects and specialised optional courses such as Spacecraft Engineering, Industrial and Sustainable Aerodynamics, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technologies.

Entry Requirements for Nepalese Students

Applicants must submit a personal statement, academic or employer reference, and optionally, a CV to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements: 

  • Applicants need Highers ABBB (including Mathematics at grade B) or A-Levels BBC-ABB, an International Baccalaureate or a BTEC Extended Diploma. 
  • Similar international qualifications are also accepted.

English Proficiency: 

  • Applicants need to score 6.0 overall in IELTS, with no individual section below 5.5.
  • TOEFL and PTE are also accepted.

The tuition fee for the BEng Aerospace Engineering at Heriot-Watt University for International Students is £25,008 per year.
