Course Overview

Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health, and Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health with Social Action. This programme has been designed to support your employability in public health roles across the UK and internationally.The MPH Master of Public Health at Glasgow Caledonian University is designed for those who want to improve public health and reduce health inequalities both locally and globally. The course focuses on real-world challenges, including ageing populations, chronic disease, migration, and climate change, and prepares graduates to contribute meaningfully to public health policy, research, and practice.

Studying the Master of Public Health at Glasgow Caledonian University helps you build important knowledge and skills in public health. You will learn about health inequalities, how to use public health data, ways to protect people's health, and how to create health policies. 

The course is available at both the London and Glasgow campuses, and can be studied on campus or online. You’ll benefit from input by experienced academics, public health professionals, and guest speakers. A final dissertation allows you to focus on an area of interest with full academic support.

You can choose from four exit awards depending on your needs: Master of Public Health, Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health.

About University

Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) is a public university in central Glasgow, Scotland, formed in 1993 by merging Glasgow Polytechnic and The Queen’s College. Its name comes from “Caledonia,” the Latin name for Scotland.

GCU is home to around 20,000–22,000 students, including over 2,700 international students from nearly 120 countries. The main campus sits in Glasgow’s Cowcaddens area, just north of the city centre. GCU also has campuses in London and previously in New York, until sold recently.

Entry Requirements for Nepalese Students

If you do not have the typical academic entry qualifications, but can demonstrate relevant work experience from recognised professional bodies, you may be eligible to study this course through the University's Recognition of Prior Learning scheme.

Grade Requirements:

  • A UK honours degree of 2:2 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Allied Health professions, Microbiology or Chemistry is required for this course. 

English Proficiency: 

  • Applicants who are non native speakers of English will be required to show proof of proficiency in English. To do this, an IELTS score of 6.5 (or equivalent) with no component below 6.0 is required. 

Cost of Study

The tuition fee to study the Master of Public Health at Glasgow Caledonian University for the 2025/2026 academic year is £16,200.

Scholarships

GCU believes education is for everyone, regardless of financial situation. Because of this, it offers a range of scholarships to support students and ease their financial burden. 

International students from India, Nigeria and Pakistan who study a full-time Taught Postgraduate course with Glasgow Caledonian University from the academic year September 2025-2026 are eligible for a tuition fee discount.

Also, fee-paying students can receive a discount of 5% on fees over £5,000 if the early payment date is met.
