BSc Psychology with Counselling

Course Overview

The BSc Psychology with Counselling runs for three years and combines psychology and counselling to teach students about human behaviour and how to help people with their emotional issues. This course will cover basic psychology principles and different counselling methods and techniques.

This course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), and after graduating with at least a 2:2, students are qualified to apply for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC). Students will be assessed through phase tests, essays, formal exams, presentations, group work, projects, reports, coursework, and assignments.

In the first year, students are introduced to the course by learning core psychology principles and skills. And they will move on to more professional and practical modules, and in the third year, they will round up the course with a final year research project. This programme emphasises experiments, including realistic role-plays between a counsellor and a client and other key counselling methods.
