BSc Biological and Forensic Sciences

The BSc Biological and Forensic Sciences course is a combination of human biology and the analytical techniques of forensic science. This programme helps students understand the science behind analysing evidence and how to present it effectively in court. Students will learn the theory and practical skills they will need to understand and examine forensic materials and build a strong case that can pass legal tests.

The programme's practical focus includes experiments in the university’s state-of-the-art labs and forensic simulation labs. The course gives students practical skills that they can apply in future, transferring their knowledge from the crime scenes to the courtroom.

This course is assessed through tests, essays, group work, presentations, reports and a research project in their final year. They will be taught through keynote lectures, lab and forensic crime scene simulations sessions, seminars, group workshops and group and individual studies.

Grade Requirements:

• Candidates need 112 UCAS points, including 32 points above in biology or chemistry-related subjects, A-levels, AS level, BTEC, or an EPQ.
• Other International qualifications equivalent to A-levels are also accepted.
• A GCSE at grade 4 or C and above in Mathematics, English and two science subjects is accepted.

English Proficiency:

• Candidates should submit an overall score of 6.5 in the IELTS test, with a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
• PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT are also accepted.

The international students’ tuition fee for the BSc Biological and Forensic Sciences programme at Coventry University is £18,300. Note that this is subject to change yearly.

Coventry University offers several scholarships for international students to help with tuition fees. They include the Vice-Chancellor's Undergraduate Scholarship, which provides up to £4,000 off tuition fees for a three-year course for international students starting in January.
