BSc Sport, Physical Education and Health Dance

Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) Sport, Physical Education and Health (Dance) degree programme at Cardiff Metropolitan University (Cardiff Met) offers a practical-based course that focuses on current and future developments in the sector. It recognises the contribution that sport and dance make within physical education.

The programme values and challenges students within a supportive learning environment and provides opportunities to access, understand, and apply research to enhance innovative practice and to understand the future role of physical educators.

The specialist Dance pathway within the programme focuses on the applied place of Dance as both a creative art and physical activity, exploring its contribution to Education, Community, and Health and Wellbeing. Students will have opportunities to Create, Perform, and Teach.

Through Cardiff Met's strong links with industry, the application and development of Dance in these contexts are explored. Students engage in work-based learning and placement experiences over four years, supporting the development of creative and innovative Dance practitioners. The programme begins with a foundation year that helps students solidify their knowledge and skills.
