BSc Adult Nursing

This full-time Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Adult Nursing course lasts three years and begins in September 2025. It is designed to help students become confident and skilled adult nurses, ready to join the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) after graduation. The programme mixes classroom learning with hands-on practice, making sure students gain important knowledge and practical nursing skills.

Students will spend an equal amount of time, 2,300 hours each, on theory in class and practical experience. This means students will get real-world experience in places like hospitals, local clinics, and special care centres, working with NHS Trusts and other healthcare groups. The course also uses modern practice rooms, including virtual reality, so students can safely practise their nursing skills.

Applicants need to write a personal statement. This is a letter where you tell the university why you want to take this course and share important information about your past studies. Applicants also need a reference letter from a teacher or someone they have worked for. They can also choose to send their CV (a document that lists their work experience). 

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants need A-level grades of BBC, which is the same as 112 UCAS Tariff points. They also need GCSE English language and maths at grades A-C (or numbers 4-9), or a similar qualification like Functional Skills Level 2.
• The university also accepts other qualifications, such as a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (DMM) or an Access to Higher Education Diploma with 15 credits at Distinction and 30 credits at Merit.

English Proficiency:

• If English is not your main language, you will need an overall score of 7.0 in the IELTS English test.
• In this IELTS test, you must not score lower than 6.5 in any single part (like reading, writing, listening, or speaking). The university also accepts other tests such as Pearson PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, and Oxford ELLT.

CCCU helps students with different scholarships and money support. If students are studying nursing, they can get an NHS Learning Support Fund of at least £5,000 each year to help with living costs. They can also get up to an extra £3,000, and they don't have to pay this money back.

There are also other scholarships for undergraduate students, such as the Academic Excellence Scholarship, Care Leavers Bursary, and the CCCU Grant. International students who qualify can get the International Student Scholarship. Plus, students in Medicine, Health, and Social Care can use the CCCU Advantage Package.

Graduates with a BSc in Adult Nursing can register as a Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC and pursue a wide range of rewarding careers, including:
