MSc Physician Associate Studies

Delivered primarily at BNU’s High Wycombe campus, with state-of-the-art clinical training facilities in Uxbridge, the program aligns with the Physician Associate Curriculum Framework, preparing students to pass the National Physician Associate Examination and work alongside doctors in diagnosing and managing patients across various healthcare settings, including hospitals and general practices.

The curriculum is designed to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, while combining lectures, seminars, case-based learning, and simulations to provide a comprehensive understanding of medical practice. Students learn to conduct physical examinations, take medical histories, interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose illnesses, and create treatment plans, covering specialities such as General Practice, Acute Medicine, Paediatrics, Mental Health, and more. BNU’s advanced facilities, including simulated clinical skills suites with high-tech manikins, allow students to practice in a safe, controlled environment. Assessment methods, such as Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), single best answer exams, and case studies, ensure students meet the competencies required for professional practice.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants must possess an Upper Second (2.1) degree in a life science subject (e.g., biology, biomedical science, physiology) or a professional healthcare qualification (such as nursing, physiotherapy, or pharmacy)
• Relevant equivalent international qualifications will also be considered·
• Applicants for this course also need GCSE maths at grade B/6 or above. 

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English-speaking backgrounds must achieve a minimum overall IELTS score of 7.5, with at least 7.0 in each component.· 
• Equivalent test scores, such as TOEFL or PTE, are also accepted.

The tuition fee for international students commencing the MSc Physician Associate Studies programme at Buckinghamshire New University in the 2025/2026 academic year is set at £17,000.
