MSc Autism

Course Overview

The MSc Autism at the University of Strathclyde provides students with a good understanding of the structure relevant to understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This masters-level course enables them to explore complex mental and emotional theories essential to supporting the autism spectrum.

Students will be able to apply the knowledge acquired to translate theory into practice and evaluate evidence-based approaches to support people with autism. Students will also examine the relationship between autism and other co-occurring neurodevelopmental conditions like ADHD.

Graduates will develop the skills and knowledge to conduct research that focuses on the needs of the autistic community. Their learning will be inspired by input provided by internationally respected autism experts.

Entry Requirements for Indian Students

Interested candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants are expected to have an undergraduate Honours degree in a related discipline, or equivalent qualification.
  • People with direct lived experience of living or experience of working with autistic people will also be considered.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds usually need an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the four components.
  • Alternatively, equivalent qualifications like PTE and TOEFL are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for international students on the MSc Autism at the University of Strathclyde is £21,550.
