BSc Construction Project Management

University of Lancashire

Course overview

This BSc Construction Project Management programme at the University of Lancashire teaches students the skills and knowledge to be successful managers who can complete building projects on time and within budget. The course has a great mix of topics that push new ideas, showing students how to lead, manage, and coordinate a project team from beginning to end. Students will learn about the newest construction technology, management methods, and design rules that every project manager must know.

Learning includes gaining practical experience by working on real-life projects and looking at detailed case studies, often inside the modern Engineering Innovation Centre (EIC). Students' performance is judged using a blend of coursework, written papers, and a large, independent research project called a Dissertation in the final year. Students have the option to take a placement year to get crucial professional experience and greatly increase their employment prospects.

Entry requirements

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience. The admissions team reviews educational achievements, predicted grades, work experience, and personal statements to make a decision.

  • Additionally, all candidates must have five GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent, which must include Mathematics and English.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to score a minimum of 6.0 overall in the IELTS test, with no individual component score lower than 5.5, or submit equivalent test scores.
