The DBA Business Administration (DBA) at Teesside University is designed for senior professionals and individuals who aspire to serve as business leaders in a dynamic and evolving global business environment, facing organisational leadership challenges. The programme offers the knowledge and skills to improve leadership and research capabilities.

The programme covers important areas such as advanced research projects, critical Issues in policy, organisation and management research, and interdisciplinary research design for doctoral students, which aims to develop the advanced analytical skills and knowledge of the students, to address complex organisational challenges.  

The DBA programme engages the students in a structured curriculum that combines taught modules with independent research.  The programme includes the development of a research proposal, followed by a dissertation that contributes to professional practice.

Teesside University is located in Middlesbrough, in the northeast of England, and has been providing education since 1930.  Its modern campus includes advanced teaching spaces, computing suites, a modern library and dedicated support for international students. Applicants must submit a personal statement to describe their reason for applying and a post-experience or professional qualification. Also, applicants' research experience, research areas of interest, and all aspects of the research proposal are required. A reference from an academic or employer is required.  Applicants are encouraged to upload a CV to show their work experience.

Grade Requirement:

• Applicants should have a Master's Degree in a subject that has aspects that relate to business and/or management.
• All applicants should have a minimum of three years' managerial experience.
• All applicants are required to complete a short research proposal. The research proposal should follow the university’s research proposal template and research proposal guidelines.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants whose first language is not English should have an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no component lower than 5.5.
• Alternatively, other English language qualifications like LanguageCert International ESOL SELT are considered.

The tuition fee for the DBA Business Administration (DBA) is £12,375 per year, in total £24,750 over two years. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may change.

The university offers scholarships to international students to support them financially. The Vice-Chancellor's scholarship, which acknowledges exceptional students demonstrating skills and commitment to global leadership, offering a one-time £7,000 fee waiver during the first year of study, is one of the scholarships awarded. Other scholarships like the Global Excellence Scholarship and the British Council GREAT scholarship exist and are offered to international students who meet certain eligibility criteria.
