MSc Computing with Cloud Technologies

Sheffield Hallam University

Course overview

The MSc Computing at Sheffield Hallam University is designed for graduates with a computing background, enabling them to build fundamental computing skills before specialising at an advanced level in either software development or data management. Students will also develop research, critical thinking, and professional skills through practical projects and real-world applications, preparing them for careers in various computing roles.

Students will begin by learning foundational computing skills, the software development lifecycle, and specialisations in advanced software development or data management. They will also explore AI and machine learning, using programming to create solutions for businesses. This includes an understanding of ethical and responsible AI use, which is especially important in recognising data solutions.

They will undertake a research-led project that supports their continued development, either specialising in a particular aspect of the course or building more knowledge in a related topic. They will be supported by a supervisor who is an academic expert in that subject area.
