Course Overview

The Sheffield Hallam University BSc (Honours) Nursing (Adult) with Foundation Year is a four-year program that will equip you to be a registered nurse. The first year (referred to as the foundation year) is offered to students who do not meet the standard entry qualifications to the full degree. It will assist you in achieving your confidence and acquiring the academic skills that you will need to learn at the university level.

On completion of the foundation year, you will move on to a three-year BSc (Honours) Nursing (Adult) degree. This course involves a combination of theory and practice with placements spread across health and social care in different settings.

  • The course is also suitable for mature students who do not have standard academic qualifications but would benefit from extra preparation before starting degree-level studies.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds should have a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 overall, with at least 7.0 in speaking, reading, and listening, and 6.5 in writing. Other equivalent tests are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for international students taking the BSc (Honours) Nursing (Adult) at Sheffield Hallam University is £19,155.

Scholarships

The university provides various scholarships to help students with the cost of their studies. While there are no specific training grants for the foundation year, you may be able to get a student finance loan.
