MSci Games Technology

This Master of Science course is designed for individuals with a computational background who are interested in games technology, aiming to enhance their programming skills in C++ and C#. The program focuses on game engines and collaborative development, preparing students for industry roles such as gameplay programming, engine programming, technical art, or tools programming. 

Through teamwork and collaborative projects, students use industry-standard version control and build a strong portfolio that showcases their work, including individual projects, a group project, and a dissertation. The course covers key topics like game engines, gameplay programming, technical graphics, and tools programming, along with a major research project. 

Students also have the option to do a "Master's with professional placement", which adds an extra year to complete a work placement after their initial studies. The teaching approach combines lectures, seminars, tutorials, lab sessions, and workshops to provide a well-rounded learning experience.

Grade Requirements: 

• Applicants need an honours degree of 2:2 or above in a computing or computer science discipline. 
• Applicants with relevant professional experience may be considered for other degrees even if their background is not a direct match.

English Proficiency: 

• Applicants need an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no individual component score lower than 5.5.
• Students who don't meet the English language requirement can take a pre-sessional English program to improve their skills and meet the entry requirements.

For the 2025/26 academic year, the tuition fee for the MSc Games Technology programme is £18,600 for international students.
