Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree at Buckinghamshire New University provides students with the skills to design, develop, and resolve real-world computing challenges. Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement, academic or employer reference, and a detailed research proposal, with an optional CV, to show their suitability for the course.

Grade Requirements: 

  • Applicants need a UCAS tariff score of 88 - 112. 
  • A minimum of two full A-levels (or equivalent qualifications). 
  • Those who do not meet these requirements can offer the four-year programme, which includes a Foundation Year.

English Proficiency: 

  • Applicants need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no individual component score lower than 5.5. 
  • TOEFL (iBT) 80, Duolingo English Test 110, or Pearson Test of English (Academic) 55 are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the BSc Computer Science programme for the Academic Year 2025/26 is £15,150 per year (applicable for both the main degree and any foundation year).

Scholarships

Buckinghamshire New University offers several scholarships for self-funded international undergraduate students. New students may qualify for a scholarship of £1,500 in their first year of study, with potential for further amounts (up to £5,000 in total) upon successful progression to subsequent years. Additionally, an early payment fee reduction of £500 is available if the full tuition fee (of at least £15,000) is paid by August 1, 2025, for September 2025 starters.
