Course Overview

This MSc Finance and Management course at the University of Essex is designed for those without a first degree in finance or business. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to fit into finance and managerial roles in the business world.

During this course, students will learn the principles of finance; how to manage and increase the financial resources of any organisation, and the core concepts of business management; and how to oversee business operations effectively.   • Applicants need to submit a CV with at least one year of relevant work experience in the fields of Economics, Finance, Banking, Investment, Financial Engineering, Risk Management, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Public Administration, Non-profit Management or Quantitative Analysis.

Grade requirements 

  • Applicants need at least a 2:2 degree, or international equivalent, in any subject.

English Proficiency

  • Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS score of at least 6.0. TOEFL or other equivalents are also allowed.
