BSc Health Social Care

Course Overview

The BSc Health & Social Care programme at Cardiff Metropolitan University integrates theoretical learning with practical, work-based experiences and exposure to real-world health and social care settings. It explores three core themes: Adult Health & Social Care, Child Health & Social Care, and Global Issues in Health & Social Care. The Health and Social Care programme is structured around 20-credit modules, with each module having approximately 200 hours of study per semester.

Students learn through lectures, seminars, work-based learning, field trips, and hands-on projects and are assessed using essays, presentations, portfolios, group projects and individual projects. They complete a recognised level 5 Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) qualification and take part in workplace learning.

Entry Requirements for Egyptian Students

Grade Requirements:

  • For entry into the BSc Health & Social Care programme, applicants are expected to have;
  • A Minimum of three A levels to include grades CCC with no specific subjects required, or equivalent qualifications like the BTEC / National Extended Diploma: MMM
  • A minimum of 104 UCAS Tariff Points, an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with no specific subjects required, and a Merit for T Level

English Language Requirements:

  • Students from non-English speaking backgrounds need to meet the University’s standard English language requirement, which is an IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in reading, writing, speaking and listening

Cost of Study

For the academic year 2025/2026, the tuition fee for the BSc Health and Social Care programme at Cardiff Metropolitan University is £16,000 for International students.
