MSc Healthcare Practice

Course Overview

This program is designed to improve professional practice and deliver high-quality healthcare services, especially in response to changes in the NHS and the population's needs. It focuses on person-centred care and is open to experienced and newly registered healthcare professionals. The course is flexible, allowing professionals from different backgrounds to apply what they learn directly to their roles and build on the four pillars of practice.

The course encourages students to take an active role in their learning through self-evaluation and reflection, recognising them as experts in their fields. Students are supported to develop innovative solutions and leadership skills in health and care delivery through a mix of classroom-based, online, and work-based activities, all backed by a Virtual Learning Environment. Assessments include a range of methods such as essays, reports, critical reflections, case studies, oral presentations, and a final research dissertation.

The MSc Healthcare Practice course starts in September 2025 and is offered part-time over two years at both the Medway and Canterbury campuses. Please note that this course is currently only open to overseas students who are already in the UK and working for the NHS, and the university cannot sponsor a Student Route VISA.
