BA Events Management

The BA Events Management programme at the Arts University Bournemouth is a three-year course that provides students with comprehensive knowledge of tourism, hospitality, event planning, marketing, and management. Throughout the programme, students learn how to organise events, such as concerts, weddings, and corporate meetings. They also receive training on public relations, networking, and project management.

The BA (Hons) Events Management course is delivered through a combination of theoretical lessons, hands-on workshops, project-based learning, and independent study. Teaching methods include lectures, workshops, and both studio-based activities and public events. Students have the option to undertake an optional placement year to gain industry experience. Upon graduation, students can explore a range of career paths, such as working for event management companies, organising corporate events, or planning charity events.

Arts University Bournemouth, known as AUB, began in 1880 as the Bournemouth Government School of Art. Over time, it grew and changed its name several times before becoming an official university in 2012. AUB is based in Poole, Dorset, England, with its campus located on Fern Barrow Road, easily accessible by train or bus.

AUB is highly respected for its strength in art, design, and media education. It has earned top ratings such as Silver and Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework and has held an Outstanding rating from Ofsted since 2018. The university was also awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize in 1998. Grade Requirements: 

Applicants need an A-level grade profile of BBC. For T-levels, a merit with a core component of grade B is required. A BTEC grade profile of DMM is also acceptable, achieved either from an Extended Diploma or a combination of smaller BTEC qualifications. Other Level 3 qualifications are accepted with a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points.

English Proficiency:

Applicants whose native language is not English need to achieve an overall IELTS score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 in each section, or attain an equivalent score in another recognised English language proficiency test.

For international students enrolling in the BA Events Management programme at the Arts University Bournemouth, the tuition fees for the 2025/26 academic year are £19,950. The placement year costs £1,850 per year.

Arts University Bournemouth offers several scholarships for international postgraduate students, which are only available during their first year of study. To qualify, students must have received an offer for a postgraduate course at AUB and must be paying overseas tuition fees. Additionally, students who pay their full annual fees before the set deadline may be eligible for an early payment fee waiver offered each year.
