To study BA (Hons) Illustration in the UK, you need a level 3 qualification or an equivalent qualification. Here are some of the qualifications accepted:
A-Level in Art and Design or related creative subject
BTEC Extended Diploma
Foundation Diploma in Art & Design
Additionally, some universities may require a portfolio of creative work showing your artistic skills and potential.
Grade Requirements
Applicants will need a minimum of 112-120 UCAS points from A-Levels (usually including Art & Design) and the following:
Minimum of BBC in A-Levels
Merit or Distinction for Foundation Diploma in Art & Design
DMM in Art & Design subjects for BTEC Extended Diploma
English Language Requirements
Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS score of at least 6.5. TOEFL or other equivalents are also allowed.
International Requirements
High School Diploma with good grades in art subjects
28–30 points total in International Baccalaureate with Visual Arts
Country-specific qualifications are also accepted if equivalent to UK standards
