Course overview

This four-year integrated master's programme offers a highly comprehensive foundation in modern biology, equipping students to understand major discoveries in science. The course prepares students to gain critical thinking, scientific teamwork, and technical communication skills, allowing them to focus on areas like cell and molecular biology, evolution and ecology, or neuroscience and behaviour. Teaching is conducted in accordance with world-leading research, with 94% of the biological sciences research assessed as globally excellent.

Students will receive detailed practical experience from the first year, including hands-on lab work and field trips to inspiring geographical locations such as Wales and Southern Africa. The final year of this integrated master's involves a full semester specially set for an individual research project within one of the School of Life Sciences' research teams.
