Study in Ireland

If you're from outside the EU or EEA and want to study in Ireland, you'll need to apply for a Long Stay (D) Student Visa before you travel. And once you arrive in Ireland, you'll need to register your immigration permission and get your Irish Residence Permit (IRP).

Your student permission allows you to study and work part-time. If you're enrolled on an eligible full-time programme, you can work up to 20 hours a week while your classes are running and up to 40 hours a week during the official holiday periods.

After you graduate, you can apply for Ireland's Third Level Graduate Programme (Stamp 1G). To apply for this visa, you'll need to have completed your course and provide proof of your qualification when you apply.

If you're eligible, Level 8 graduates can get up to 12 months, while Level 9 or higher graduates, such as master's graduates, can get up to 24 months (usually in two 12-month periods). Stamp 1G lets you work full-time while you look for suitable graduate-level employment and work towards getting an employment permit.
