University of Sussex

Course overview

Genetics is a field with a major impact on society, changing conservation, farming, biotechnology, and healthcare through science. This programme will teach students how these advances help humans to understand the genetic causes of illness in people, and how new technology could change the way diseases are treated, leading to personalised medicine.

Students will study in the School of Life Sciences with a supportive group of students and teachers who are experts in areas such as cancer and brain disorders. Their lessons are informed by the most recent research, and they will get valuable practical experience in the university's labs while improving their skills in data analysis and communication.
