The BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering trains students in how to analyse, design, develop and maintain electrical control systems, microprocessor systems, biomedical and telecommunication systems, including the Internet of Things. The in-depth knowledge they acquire through the course modules focuses on real-life, practical applications of these skills.
Students will graduate with the specialised skills and knowledge base needed for a successful professional career in the wide area of electrical, electronics and computer systems engineering.
The programme is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council to fully meet the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partially meet the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Students' progress will be assessed using a variety of methods suited to the module content and activity type. These include coursework, essays, examinations, presentations and reports.
