MBA Professional Practice

The University of Sunderland MBA Professional Practice programme combines a 12-month taught course with a compulsory 12-month work placement facilitated by the university. This structure will allow students to apply their business skills and knowledge directly in a professional workplace setting.

The programme's curriculum covers major MBA topics like Strategic Leadership, International Business, and Corporate Governance, culminating in a Placement Project (120 credits) which links theory to professional experience. If a student is unsuccessful in securing a placement, they are transferred to the generic MBA route, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in a subject like Digital Marketing or Human Resource Management at no extra cost.

This course is designed to support career acceleration for academically qualified applicants by incorporating significant work experience. You will be required to attend a short Skype interview as part of the application process.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants require a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualifications. For UK graduates, this typically means a second-class honours degree (2:2) or higher.
• All levels of practical work experience are considered, including limited or no post-degree experience, provided the candidate can show they will gain from this master's programme.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to score a minimum of 6.0 overall in IELTS, with at least 5.5 in each component (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
• Equivalent approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) scores will also be accepted.

The annual tuition fee for international students on the MBA Professional Practice at the University of Sunderland is £19,000.
