Overview
The BSc Hons Sport & Physical Activity from the University of Strathclyde allows students to develop an understanding of the key psychological issues individuals encounter in sport and physical activity. They will study topics such as health promotion, public health, and socioecological approaches to physical activity and health.
Students will also develop an understanding of behaviour change theories and discuss current issues in sport and physical activity psychology, including addictive and unhealthy behaviour. They will undertake a research project leading to a dissertation by choosing from optional classes such as physical activity for specialist populations, data analytics, physical education, biomechanics, sports injury, psychology, and nutrition.
Entry Requirements
Interested candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.
Grade Requirements:
- Applicants are to have qualifications equivalent to A-levels at AABC, including Higher English at B plus Higher Maths or a Science at B.
- The preferred subjects are Physical Education or Biology.
English Proficiency:
- Applicants from non-English-speaking backgrounds usually need an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the four components.
- Alternatively, equivalent qualifications like PTE and TOEFL are also accepted.
Cost of Study
The annual tuition fee for international students on the BSc Hons Sport & Physical Activity at the University of Strathclyde is £24,650.
