BSc Biochemistry Pharmacology

Course Overview

This degree combines the study of biochemistry and pharmacology, offering a joint honours programme. Biochemistry is the study of biological systems at a molecular level, while pharmacology is the study of how drugs and chemicals affect the body. The course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology.

The programme's first two years provide a broad foundation in biomolecular sciences, allowing students to confirm their degree choice later. In the final two years, students will specialise in biochemistry and pharmacology. The course includes laboratory skills, data analysis, report writing, and an individual research project in the final year. Learning is assessed through written exams, essays, presentations, and practical tests.
