Course overview

The BSc Architecture with Foundation Year at the University of Roehampton is a four-year programme combining an initial foundation year with three years of the full architecture degree. The foundation year introduces core design, construction, drawing, and academic skills to prepare students for degree-level work.

After successful completion of the foundation year, students proceed to the main architecture degree, where they engage with architectural theory, design studios, technical and environmental studies, and professional practices.

Students are assessed through coursework, design portfolios, presentations, written essays, and project work, and receive ongoing tutorial feedback and are evaluated at the end of the module. The foundation year comprises four 30-credit modules over two semesters, giving confidence in design and academic ability.

Entry requirements
