MSc Infectious Diseases

University of Kent

Course overview

The MSc Infectious Diseases at the University of Kent teaches you advanced research skills. The main focus is on diseases that affect large numbers of people around the world. The course gives students the scientific and practical tools to study how germs (pathogens) spread, stay alive, and cause sickness. This prepares graduates to work on important, urgent problems like stopping drug-resistant bacteria and creating new vaccines

Students will learn through a blend of lectures, small group discussions (seminars), and practical work in the lab. Students gain important skills in designing experiments and accurately analysing complicated information using statistics. The course finishes with a large research project overseen by University staff who are actively researching disease-causing germs.
