BSc Sport and Exercise Science

University of Kent

Course overview

This three-year science degree looks at how sport and exercise change the human body and its potential. Students will study key science areas like physiology (how the body works), biomechanics (how humans move), and psychology (the mind). This knowledge is used to improve the performance of top athletes and to help people manage long-term health problems. This course is officially approved by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).

Students will learn using methods such as lectures, group talks (seminars), and practical lab sessions. This lets them gain direct experience using specialised equipment. The university assesses students in ways that help them develop crucial job skills, such as solving problems, understanding data, and communicating clearly. Graduates will leave with strong scientific knowledge and useful experience gained from the excellent sports and lab facilities at Kent.
