BSc Psychology
Course overview
This BSc Psychology at the University of Hull teaches the study of the human mind and how people behave. Students cover main topics like cognition (how humans think), development (how they grow), and neuroscience (the brain). Students learn about important subjects such as memory, how people interact, and how children develop. This course is officially recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Students will learn useful, practical skills that can help with real-world problems, such as understanding dementia. The course includes set classes (taught modules) and a large research project in the students' final year. They have the choice to study in another country for a term or complete an optional placement year at a company to gain work experience. Students who meet the requirements can also take a fast-track path to qualify as a Clinical Psychology Doctor.
Entry requirements
Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience. The university considers your whole application, not just academic results.
Grade Requirements:
- Applicants need 120 UCAS points, which is usually equivalent to BBB at A-level or DDM on a BTEC qualification.
- At least 80 of these points must come from key academic qualifications. Different qualifications are acceptable if the student can demonstrate enough relevant life or work experience, as all applicants are considered individually.
